The shape of this tray is one used specifically for holding incense implements. It has auspicious designs of pine, bamboo, cranes, and turtles in gold and silver hira (flat) makie. The detailed pine needles, pine bark, crane feathers, and bamboo shoots suggest it was probably made by a high-end makie studio.
