This is a letter from Toyotomi Hideyoshi to a certain Uehara Jirōuemon of Kyoto. Hideyoshi writes that he is currently in Nagoya in Hizen province (present-day Saga, on the island of Kyushu) in order to lead troupes into the Bunroku War, and he orders Jirōuemon to come to him. He signs it Taikō大かう (“Imperial Regent Emeritus”).
