Overview

Decorated Sue Jar

Museum No.
JK216-33

Four diminutive jars and figurines of humans and animals decorate the shoulder of the jar. The figurines ingeniously represent the lively sense of life, wrestlers, and referee, as well as a deer hunt and the carrying home of captured game. This is one of such decorated jars, popularly produced during the early half of the sixth century, to be buried within the corridor-style stone chamber tomb.
