A child wore this furisode (long-sleeved kimono) constructed without extensions to the front body panels. The design of flowers in running water is classic, yet the curved lines of the strongly undulating running water show the influence of the Art Nouveau movement popular in the West. The sandbar stenciled tie-dye pattern of small squares and the running water in white appear to use traditional techniques, but are in fact based on stenciled yûzen dyeing. Despite the motifs being classic, due to the pallet of chemical dyes, the furisode gives a fresh impression.
