Landscape

Museum No.
AK209

According to the title written by Chang Honglie at the top of the painting, the artist of this work is his cousin, Ji Jiwen. Jiwen gave up on a career in government service due to illness during his youth and became an established painter after having studied the paintings of Ni Yunlin (1301-1374) and Huan Gongwang (1269-1354). The depiction of rocks, trees, clouds and fog in this work follows the style of Sheng Maoye (active 1607-1633), who lived during the end of Ming dynasty (1368-1644).
