This work was produced by putting together fans made from the mid-Muromachi period (1392-1573) through the Edo period (1615-1868), and converting them to illustrations on a pair of folding screens. Each fan depicts an interesting theme, and among surviving genre paintings, that with the scene of Kiyomizu-dera Temple dates back to the earliest days of their production.
